Officer Brayden Borders - Kado

My name is Brayden Borders, and I joined Unified Police Department in February of 2022. I currently am enlisted in the Utah Army National Guard and have been serving for the past 9 years as a combat medic. I have worked as a patrol officer in Magna and was a field training officer (FTO) prior to coming into the K9 unit.

Kado came from Slovakia and is a German Shepherd/Malinois. He and I are new to the K9 unit as of December 7th, 2025, and are learning a lot of cool new things about each other every day. Kado is currently training to be a dual purpose certified K9 in narcotic detection and criminal apprehension.

Kado absolutely loves his toys and is a huge fan of blueberries. When he is off duty, Kado spends his time with family at home and loves pets. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity of being a handler on the K9 unit as it has been a long-time dream. Kado and I are looking forward to our future together as partners.
